Description

Vermeer Girl With The Pearl Earring is a Belgian woven jacquard wall tapestry. The artwork comes from the painting considered one of Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer's (1632 – 1675) masterworks. The original title of this painting was; "Girl With a Turban" but it was renamed in the late 20th century. There are many guesses as to who the mysterious girl is, though historians tend to lean toward her being his eldest daughter Maria who was about 12-13 years old when the painting was created. Today the painting is kept in the Mauritshuis gallery in the Hague. It is sometimes referred to as "the Mona Lisa of the North" or "the Dutch Mona Lisa". Display this fine piece of masterful work in your study, office, or home.
