History: Paysage (1924-1925) is a French jacquard tapestry cushion cover. The artwork is by Joan Miró i Ferrà (1893 - 1983). He was a Catalan, Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist born in Barcelona. His work has been interpreted as Surrealism; a sandbox for the subconscious mind. In numerous interviews dating from the 1930's onwards, Miró expressed contempt for conventional painting methods and famously declared an "assassination of painting" in favor of upsetting the visual elements of established painting. These cushion covers are part of the Miro collection and are authorized by Successió Miró CB.
